It is a joint initiative of Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India & IIT Roorkee and it is executing the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS), approved by the Union Cabinet in December 2018. It is focused on technology development, human resources, technology incubation, startups, skill development and international collaborative research. It is focused on Product/Technology development and skill development primarily in the areas of Healthcare, Industry 4.0 & Smart Cities.
