Why this Course: 

Data Analyst roles are high in demand across industries owing to the fact that companies increasingly rely on the Data-Driven insights in their decision-making processes. Similar is the case with R & D organizations also, where researchers have to analyse huge amount of Data for drawing meaningful conclusions. Python, SQL and Power BI are the three very widely used tools across industries in Data Analytics applications. Therefore, this course is designed to make the participants efficient in using these three Data Analytics tools and thus helping them to enhance their skillsets & employability.
 
What you will learn?

Data Analytics with Python Programming
Starting from the fundamentals of Python Programming, we shall dive into the applications of Python libraries in the processes like Data Wrangling & Data Exploration taking real-world Datasets. Also, We will discuss Data Visualization & Data Interpretation using Matplotlib & Seaborn libraries. There will be a Capstone Project with real-world datasets.
Database Management with SQL
We shall start from understanding the basics of Databases & DBMS, and their role in Data Organization. Then, from installation & setup of MySQL and discussing its applications in working with Databases, we will dive into the important processes like Data Manipulation & Data Optimization using SQL, taking Databases from real-world applications.
Working with Power BI
Starting from Power BI basics like its components and architecture, we will discuss its applications in Data visualization. We shall learn the use of Power BI in creating coherent, visually impressive and interactive insights from disparate Data sets.

•    Enabling participants to learn the Fundamentals of Python Programming and its applications in Data Analytics.

Module 1 (Python Fundamentals)

  • Basics of Python Language
  • Python objects with details of strings/numbers/lists/dictionaries/tuples etc.
  • Comparison operators, Range, List Comprehension
  • Attributes and Functions, Lambda expressions etc.
  • Object Oriented Programming
  • Introduction to NumPy
  • Random Functions, Reshape, Arithmetic operations, Data Manipulation

Module 2 (Data Wrangling & Exploration)

  • Introduction to Pandas
  • Series, DataFrames, working with various data types, Group-By operation
  • Indexing & sorting, Handling Null Values
  • loc & iloc with series, Built-in and Universal methods
  • Inspecting DataFrames, filtering with conditional operators, Lambda, Map and Filter operations.
  • Manipulating columns; updating values; working with date & time

Module 3 (Data Visualization & Projects)

  • Introduction to Matplotlib Library
  • Working with different plots with Matplotlib Library
  • Functional and Object-Oriented plotting method
  • Introduction to Seaborn Library
  • Working with Seaborn library for data interpretation
  • Capstone Projects with real world datasets

Module 4 (Introduction to Databases & SQL)

  • Introduction to DBMS and their role in data organization
  • Exploring various types of DBMS architectures.
  • Understanding the ACID properties and their importance in database transactions
  • Installation and setup of MySQL.
  • Introduction to SQL and its subsets: DDL, DML, DQL, DCL, TCL.
  • Creating, dropping, and managing databases

Module 5 (Data Manipulation with SQL)

  • Understanding basic data types and table structures
  • Implementing primary keys, auto-increment, and constraints    
  • Comprehensive coverage of CRUD operations: Create, Read, Update, Delete
  • Mastering SELECT statements with various clauses: WHERE, GROUP BY, HAVING, ORDER BY, LIMIT
  • Utilizing string functions for data manipulation and transformation.

Module 6 (Data Optimization with SQL)

  • Data Analysis using Aggregation functions
  • Utilizing Ranking Functions
  • Exploring advanced SQL features like UNIQUE constraints, adding/dropping columns, and column modifications
  • Understanding complex query operations using comparison & logical operators, and CASE statements
  • Optimization techniques for improving query performance and database efficiency
  • Capstone Project

Module 7 ( Basics of Power BI)

  • Introduction, Components and Architecture of Power BI
  • Visualizations, Reports, Dashboards, Tiles, Power BI vs Tableau
  • Basic Transformations, Text tools, Unwanted Columns, Null Values, Numerical Tools, Date and Time
  • Conditional Columns, Merge and Append Queries

Module 8 ( Working with Power BI)

  • Pivoting and Unpivoting of Data, Data Modeling and Relationships, Cardinality and Cross-Filter.
  • DAX: Syntax, Operators, Functions: Date and Time, Text, Logical
  • Power BI charts: Bar, Column, Line, Area, Combination, Pie, Doughnuts, Maps, Funnels etc.
  • Power BI KPIs, Tree maps, tool tips, Dashboard and Reports  
  • Hands-on projects using Power BI
Prerequisites and eligibility:
  • No coding experience in any programming language required. We’ll start from scratch.
  • This course can be taken up by any undergraduate/postgraduate student of Basic & Applied Sciences, Engineering, Management and Computer Applications and also by Research Scholars/Faculties/Working Professionals who want to upskill themselves.
  • Participants need to have a laptop/PC (with a minimum of 4 GB RAM, 100 GB HDD, Intel i3 processor) and proper internet/Wi-Fi connection.
